Origins and early years
In 2002, a few radio amateurs decided to lay the foundation for something new: what would later become the TRC section. However, it wasn’t until 2003 that the Trudo Radio Club (TRC) was officially recognized as a UBA section. Under the guidance of a few “old hands,” the section grew into a mix of experienced operators and beginning radio amateurs. Thanks to the enthusiasm of our CM and the curiosity of the younger generation, the idea arose to provide lessons for potential new ON operators. The introduction of the ON3 course came as a gift. Our section, driven by the dedication of our CM, was one of the first to jump on board and began teaching young and not‑so‑young ladies and gentlemen. Interest was high, and many current amateurs started out as ON3. The CM’s playful teasing was gladly taken along with the lessons. Special events, field days, and excursions — it all came along. The knowledge gathered over the years still circulates within the section and is still happily shared. There have been numerous homebrew projects, some successful and others less so. The two passions of our CM — teaching and homebrewing — have shaped the section into what it still is today.TRC visitors from the following countries:
